The ionator EXP ionizes tap water to clean without the use of chemicals. It’s simple physics:
heat + water = steam; cold + water = ice; electricity + water = cleaner. Specifically, the electricity involves

1) Charging: A water cell applies a slight electrical charge to the tap water, breaking apart the water molecules and thereby reducing the water’s surface tension.
2) Transforming: The ionized water passes through an ion exchange membrane, creating an oxygen-rich mixture of positively and negatively charged nano-bubbles.
3) Cleaning: The ionized water now attracts dirt like a magnet, breaks it apart, and lifts it from the surface, enabling it to be easily wiped away.
4) Sanitizing: As the ionized water is sprayed on the surface, it carries a low-level electric field to the surface, where the germs may be living. This low-level electric field ruptures the germ cells, killing them (when used as directed).

inactivation of the 2009 Pandemic H1N1 Influenza A virus

It is important to note that the sanitizing performance is not dependent upon the ionizing process. The sanitizing performance is generated through a science called electroporation. Activeion technology applies a low-level electric field to the water, which, when delivered to the surface,
creates holes in the cell walls — killing the germs. For those surfaces that require a medical-grade disinfectant, you can use the ionator EXP to clean the surface, then use a standard disinfectant, and perhaps rinse the surface with the ionator EXP to remove chemical residue and film.
